​Andre and Joan first met back in 2003 in Johor during the Inter Campus Gathering camp. During the camp Andre had his eyes on Joan when she played the angel role for the USM group performance. They swap numbers at the end of the camp and became close. Their first date was rather unconventional, not the typical movie date; they went swimming. From the first date, there were sparks, butterflies and an overwhelming feeling that this was something special. They officially became a couple on January 2005.

Having a long distance relationship surely wasn't easy. Joan studied in USM, Penang and Andre was in UTP, Perak. And after graduating, both of them work at different places. They were always divided by the oceans and mountains but are always close in their hearts and minds. 



On Feb 2012, Andre went down on one knee to propose to Joan after having their dinner at a restaurant in Singapore.



"Will you marry me?" Andre said

And of course the answer from Joan is a YES.
